Hello and welcome to your 2-minute Tech Briefing from Computerworld. I'm your host. Arnold Davick, reporting from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Here are the top it stories you need to know for Wednesday, December 17th. Up first from CIO.<\/p>

Ai, vendors are beginning to align around shared standards for agentic AI. It's a move that could significantly reduce vendor lock in those vendors include anthropic, AWS, Google, Microsoft and IBM.<\/p>

The new agentic AI foundation aims to establish common protocols for how AI agents access data, share context and take actions across enterprise systems. This would give CIOs greater flexibility as Agent deployment scale beyond early pilots.<\/p>

Now from Computerworld, Cloudflare says it has blocked more than 416 billion AI bot requests over the past six months as part of its effort to stop unpaid content scrapping.<\/p>

CEO Matthew Prince says AI represents a major platform shift for the Internet and criticizes Google for merging search and AI crawlers. He argues that publishers are forced to choose between protecting content and remaining visible in search results.<\/p>

And from CSO online, Portugal has legalized certain security research and the UK may follow lawmakers say outdated cyber crime laws discourage ethical hackers from reporting vulnerabilities. New proposals would protect researchers who act responsibly. This would strengthen national cyber resilience without shielding criminal activity.<\/p>
