Credit: JarTee / Shutterstock.com Meta has released an important update for WhatsApp that patches CVE-2025-55177, a serious vulnerability that is actively exploited. The vulnerability, along with another vulnerability (CVE-2025-43300), has been used to install spyware on iPhones and Macs. According to Meta’s spokesperson Margarita Franklin, nearly 200 people have been monitored using the installed spyware and have been informed of the incident. At the time of writing, it is unclear who is behind the campaign, Techcrunch reports.
